Dear Harvest Life Church Family:
2024 is moving so quickly! It seems like we just came out of our New Year’s Eve Service, and now here we are in May. And since this year is progressing at such a rapid pace, we want to “redeem the time” and really make our services, activities, events and everything we do for God count. Let’s make sure that as we plan and prepare for what God will do through us this month, we do so with a significant outcome in mind!
Taking a quick moment to reflect on April, we saw some really significant events take place – we took Communion together and we baptized 10 souls! Our Women’s and Men’s Empowerment and our weekly Worship Services were so powerful – 99 souls gave/rededicated their lives to Christ! We released a new song, “He Loved Me Through It All”, had a life-changing Spirit Saturday and Worship and Spirit Sunday – our Young Adult Ministry raised enough funds in their Car Wash to purchase two building blocks ($1,000), and Elevate purchased one block ($500). The Young at Heart Ministry put together more than 250 care packages to bless the homeless of Prince William County and beyond with toiletries and more, the Youth Ministry took time to pick up trash in a cleanup project at a local park, and the Men’s Ministry did a major multi-day cleanup at the site of our new Worship Center. Whew! Can you say “significance”? Let’s take it even higher in the months to come!
Our theme for May is “Moving From Faith to Faith”. Now, don’t let this be just a catchphrase – stand on the Word and seek God to see how He wants you to exercise your faith. Pull out your goal sheet from Sunday School and rekindle your faith to see the things you want come to pass. Get ready to grow every day! And speaking of growth, let’s get ready to celebrate a very special group of people that play a major part in our growth – Mothers!
Sunday Worship and Mother’s Day Services
On Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 12th) we are celebrating all mothers for all that they are and all that they do – Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers in our Harvest Life Family! We thank you for the many sacrifices you make for your family, the way you cover your children, for all of the teaching, guidance, prayer and so much more! A mother’s love is beyond compare – we want you to know that we love you, honor you and are praying for you! Join us at 9:15 am and 11:30 am for our powerful Sunday Worship and Mother’s Day Services and get ready to experience a life-changing message, special tributes for mothers, a wonderful Mother’s Day Bakery at the Marketplace and more!
Pastor Deborah’s Mother’s Day Message From Bishop Dukes
On this special day I want us to celebrate our Spiritual Mother, Pastor Deborah Dukes! Pastor Deborah is an amazing wife, mother and grandmother – she is gifted, faith-filled, loving, powerful, discerning, anointed, wise, strong…and those are just a few of her attributes. She loves each of her children beyond measure and she puts her whole heart into seeing purpose come to pass in their lives. Let’s demonstrate our love and appreciation for the Spiritual Mother of our church by sowing a Mother’s Day celebration seed, if you can, to Pastor Deborah (Cash App – $PastorDeborahDukes) and continue praying for her. Pastor Deborah, we love you!!
New Word Wednesday Series – Faith to Faith
We’re excited to present this dynamic series – and we’re excited about seeing you move from “faith to faith”! Do you know that faith changes the chemistry of who you are? Let’s get ready to walk out our faith together as we soar to new heights in Christ – and watch our faith increase to levels we’ve never seen before. Take a good look at yourself today; you should look a lot different at the end of this series!
First Sunday Baptism and Communion
This Sunday, May 5th at the 11:30 am service, we will have Communion for the entire congregation! Join us for this sacred service as we commemorate the victory our Lord Jesus Christ gave us on the cross over 2,000 years ago!
Following the 11:30 am service we will have our Baptism Service to celebrate those who have made a decision to take the next step in Christ and be baptized. Our Connect Class is held on the 3rd Sunday of each month – you may attend either the 10:30 am class or the 1:15 pm class. The next class will take place on Sunday, May 19th. We want EVERY MEMBER to attend a Connect Class. Click the button below to register online.
Sunday School
We look forward to seeing you at Sunday School – the best school in town – each Sunday at 8:00 am! It is at Sunday School where you will receive foundational teaching in the Word of God and will be equipped with the Biblical wisdom and understanding to sustain you in your Christian journey. There are classes for youth (ages 3 and up), Middle School, High School, and adults.
Pastor Deborah teaches the Adult and High School Class with passion and conviction and is starting a new series on Sunday, May 12th – “Growing in Faith”. We encourage you and your children to invite someone to experience our awesome Sunday School classes!
The Youth Academies Are Back!
The Youth Academies are an awesome opportunity for growth in our young people. Our academies are designed to lead the youth, first and foremost, into a vibrant, authentic personal relationship with Christ. They will learn biblical principles, respect, honor, obedience, leadership skills, etiquette, self-confidence / self-worth and so much more! As the Senior Pastors, we will also host special “Power Sessions” with the academy students! The Youth Academy sessions will take place every Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, June 1st – June 29th. The cost is just $45 per person. There is an academy field trip – it is not included in the cost of registration, so be sure to check out the website for details. The deadline to register is Sunday, May 26th.
