Chapter 8 – Develop Strong Spiritual Patterns
“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.” Revelation 3:8
For reinvention to take place and flourish, a spiritual infrastructure must be instituted. It is imperative that proper and prolific spiritual patterns be established and maintained for long-lasting transformation to take place.
When you go to the doctor’s office the first thing they will ask you to do is to complete a medical history report. This is because they understand that your history will yield vital information concerning your outlook. There are certain things concerning your “patterns” (family background, health challenges, activities, etc.) that will give them insight on your current situation as well as your future.
This is also true with your spiritual life. How is your faith? How is your prayer life? How is your church attendance? How about your day-to-day “trust” levels? Do you give in tithing? Do you serve in God’s Kingdom? Are your personal relationships getting better? Well, this is a good time for a spiritual check-up. That’s really what reinvention is all about!
For your spiritual “makeover” to be successful it is imperative to posture yourself in an environment that is conducive to spiritual growth. It is essential for those that want to live a victorious life and not just have a victory moment!
The Bible says in I Timothy 6:6: “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
There is a powerful anointing that will come upon you as you trust God’s process and position yourself in His plan. There are so many Christians that are defeated just because of their environment. The scripture says in II Timothy 3:5:
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
It informs us that there are some people who portray a certain godly way. They may come to church. They may carry a Bible; however, they are not rooted in God’s process because of their environment. The scripture says in I Corinthians 15:33:
“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”
It just may be the people that you are hanging around with that are causing you to lose your spiritual anointing. The people that you surround yourself with – either add to or subtract from your life. Some folks are “designed” to sap your spiritual strength and cause you to go down the wrong path. You must be very discerning.
