Staff Accountant

Position Overview

Harvest Life Church is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing support to the accounting department and Director of Finance & Accounting. This position offers the opportunity to be instrumental in business growth and the development of new processes and procedures as it relates to the overall accounting department.

Responsibilities

  • Managing of a multi-company environment, to include all intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts and variance reports as required by management.
  • Prepare financial reports; participate in special projects, and other analyses as assigned.
  • Assisting with the daily operations within the Accounting Department.
  • Reconciling and analyzing all general ledger accounts for transactional accuracy.
  • Providing support in the month/quarter/year-end closing process and/or audits.
  • Reconcile and fully analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure timely delivery of high-quality business support service and development of the required infrastructure (business process design, documentation, system design, policy, procedures).
  • Assist in such areas as customer billing, cash receipts, customer collections, payroll, accounts payable and other administrative functions.
  • Assist in training and developing accounting support staff and review work for accuracy as needed.
  • Enforce operating standards in a professional, collaborative manner.
  • Ensuring accounting system integrity and its ability to support future expansion(s) as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must have 5+ years of experience in accounting.
  • BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with QuickBooks is highly desired.
  • GAAP knowledge and excellent computer skills needed.
  • Knowledge of CAS.
  • Well versed with standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience in a Point-of Sale environment highly desirable.
  • Ability to exercise individual judgment in resolving issues with a sense of urgency to meet strict deadlines.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with strong time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
