Fasting and prayer go hand in hand. During this time of fasting, you may notice a change in your prayer life – you may desire to pray more frequently, and you may feel that you hear from God more clearly.

Every day.

It’s good to kneel for prayer if you are able (showing humility and reverence for God). If you are unable to kneel, you can pray while sitting or standing. You may also start off kneeling, but end up standing or walking around.

Overall, look at God as your Father. Talk to Him and just share your heart. Here is a pattern you can follow to help you as you pray.

1.Thank God for what He has done in your life – For waking you up this morning, giving you a right mind, thank Him for whatever you can think of!

2.Confess your sins and ask God to forgive you – Then commit to change!

3.Make your prayer requests known before God.

4.Pray that God will bless and guide you for the things you will be doing that day. Pray for everything from the beginning of your day until the end.

Ask God to help you live better.

Live a holy and righteous life, consecrated to God.

Ask God to help you love better.

Be kind to others.

Invite someone to church.

Forgive anyone who has wronged you.

Ask God to help you serve better.

Use your gifts and talents to glorify Him.

Join a ministry.

Ask God to help you give better.

Give in tithes, offering and other sacrificial giving, like our Building Campaign (Steel Standing Initiative).

5.Pray for those things that you are believing God to do for you.

6.Pray for others, using the list of suggested areas of prayer below.

7.After prayer, believe and trust in God…and walk in your victory!

Mark 11:22-24 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Here are some suggested areas of prayer – but don’t feel that you are limited to these areas. As you spend time with God and in His Word, He will reveal things to you that you should pray about.
